How many tunes do I actually need?

Good question. Common configurations include one, two, four or eight tunes. Older models included sixteen, thirty-two and sixty-four tunes and while some are still around, many are no longer manufactured, although we are aware of one seller offering over 300 tunes in one chime box (why???).

Where to start?

While largely a personal preference, remember that you are selling ice cream and using the chimes to attract customers, not running a mobile disco!

If you only do a local street round you only need one tune that your regular customers instantly recognise, so they know it’s you.

If you also cater for special events like birthdays, weddings, engagements or other celebrations you might want to add ‘Happy Birthday‘, ‘The Wedding March‘ or ‘Congratulations‘ to your repertoire.

Work all year round? How about ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas‘ or ‘Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer‘?
